Power Project Financing ,
California
PPF is an investment bank and consulting firm
specialising in independent power. Besides early-stage structuring and strategic planning,
PPF has an international placement capability for project developers.
Power
Project Financing's mission is to help provide sustainable, clean electricity for modern
living based on fair commercial dealing all round. Specifically, we match electric
projects with investors, helping to figure out the appropriate allocation of risk and
return. We believe that market forces and competition are generally good for society, but
that government has an important role in regulation and consumer protection. We hate to
waste time, money, natural resources, and human potential.
Services
include:
 | Early stage development assistance
 | PPF helps developers bidding to sell electricity or in the early
stages of negotiating a project. We advise on the financing requirements of key contracts,
so the project will have a sound underpinning in all respects
|
|
 | Early stage equity / development capital
 | PPF can arrange bridge financing for developers that maximises
their long term ownership and control. For example, we sourced a $1.75 million development
capital equity infusion for a series of projects in Latin America. Another example in 1997
was the successful arrangement of equity capital for a series of nine coal-fired projects
in China.
|
|
 | Project structuring
 | PPF works with key participants to make the project can obtain
non-recourse project financing. By sound structuring and professional presentation, we
obtained competing offers for financing a 20 MW project workout in California. All the
parts of a project must make sense individually and related to one another.
|
|
 | Privatization, strategic planning and implementation
 | PPF has been retained to conduct strategic planning, write business
plans, and build complex corporate financial models. It advises, either directly or
through subcontract, small and large companies and governmental agencies including United
Air Lines, Clorox, US TDA, US AID, and the California Energy Commission.
